Joining Coral Catch is one of the most life-changing experiences I have ever had in my life. As someone who used to work in a completely different job as a social media strategist, Coral Catch has helped me learn deeper and better about marine conservation world both on theoretical and practical level. This program has shown me how beautiful and inspiring this field is. I am now even more in love with the underwater world and will do everything in my power to protect the ocean.
Coral Catch is an extraordinary scholarship program because the material I received exceeded my expectations. It really prepares us to become real marine conservationists! and the way the mentors are teaching is really cool. Not only that, the work environment is comfortable, even though my English skills are not good, they still embraced me and understood me very well and openly. I didn't waste any time or have any regrets during this program.
I feel this program has shaped me into a much better person. Not only it taught me about marine science but also career paths in other fields and helped me to know myself and opened up new views and valuable opportunities for me. During my scholarship at Coral Catch, I learnt so much about not only protecting the ocean, but also myself. I learned how much the ocean truly means to me and all the things I wish to do in my life to protect it. As I am only 19, this was my first real time being away from home and family, I was terrified of being on my own. Little did I know that I would never really feel lonely here, that I would form a new family not only with my fellow candidates, but with the people at Gili Shark and the dive centre. Little did I know how much I did not want to leave. It is hard to believe life will get better than being at Coral Catch and diving everyday. My love for diving has somehow increased so much more than when I first came here. I fell in love with coral restoration. I could live the rest of my life happy if my job was cleaning hex domes everyday. My knowledge of the ocean and all the beautiful things swimming in it has rose so much more, and my thirst for more knowledge is ever growing. My time at Coral Catch will forever be in my memories and I know the great things I will achieve thanks to my time here.
