Change A Girl's World And She'll Change Yours

At Coral Catch, each batch of Superwomen is sponsored by various grants, funds, companies, or private individuals, with some sponsors generously supporting multiple batches. We are deeply grateful to our sponsors, who believed in our dreams even when others doubted that forming a coral restoration team comprised solely of Indonesian women was feasible. Together, we are changing the world – one woman, one reef, one island at a time.

There is no better way to demonstrate the power of sponsoring a Coral Catch Superwoman than by sharing the stories of our scholarship candidates. Their words will show you how our coral restoration scholarship has transformed their lives.

Aulia Zeintrinanda

sponsor women in ocean science

“During my coral restoration scholarship, I’ve gained a huge amount of knowledge and awareness relating to coral restoration and marine conservation. I’m so grateful that I got the chance to live for nine weeks on a beautiful little island and work with the research team of Gili Shark Conservation.

The scholarship brought me a lot of beneficial experiences: I’ve learned how to build different coral reef structures, how to survey restoration sites, how to involve the community and coral restoration management.

So far, I’ve hadn’t gained much hands-on experience in my career. The scholarship was an incredible learning opportunity for me and I’m thankful that I now can proof to my future employer that I not only have the knowledge, but also have experience in the field.

Working on daily basis alongside an experienced dive instructor improved my diving skills a lot and I’m sure this will be very beneficial for my future job as a marine scientist. As well as all the masterclasses that I’ve got from influential women and experts in the conservation area. It helped me to improve my understanding of different coral restoration methods, community engagement, ecotourism, leadership, and professionalism.

By spending team with the research team of Coral Catch I learned more about work ethics, communication, how to perform a dive briefing and how to lead a scientific dive. I improved my public speaking skills and became a better team player. As a result, I feel more empowered in this field. And as an extra bonus: I also got a bunch of new friends.

My scholarship period was a true blessing and I will cherish this memory of adventure for the rest of my life.”

How Much Does A Scholarship Cost?

The cost of one Coral Catch Scholarship is $2,497 USD. This program empowers women with essential skills for marine conservation, from coral restoration techniques to project management and entrepreneurship. Beyond underwater training, participants engage in hands-on activities like crafting artificial structures and analyzing data. Our commitment extends to comprehensive learning, including weekly masterclasses on project management, mental health, and community outreach.

Participants in Coral Catch receive more than just training. Basics like food and housing are covered during the program. Additionally, we provide access to our extensive network within the conservation and marine industries.

Empowerment within Coral Catch is about more than skills—it’s fostering a supportive environment. Participants receive journals for personal reflection and attend women’s circles led by an empowerment coach. Weekly coaching sessions guide them in navigating career aspirations and community challenges.
